The 3D Team

3D Dietetics is a team of three Accredited Practicing Dietitians (APD), Alice Jay, Emma Putrus, and Claire Nixon. They completed their degrees in Nutrition and Dietetics at Flinders University and are active members of the SA Gastrointestinal Dietitians Group and Dietitians Australia.

Alice, Emma, and Claire all currently hold public appointments at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in gastrointestinal disease and surgery. They created 3D Dietetics in 2016 providing both outpatient and inpatient Dietetic consultancy in the private sector.

Together 3D has over 30 years of dietetics experience. They pride themselves on providing comprehensive, evidence-based, and holistic care to improve the health and well-being of their patients throughout all stages of their surgical or treatment journey.

They have close working relationships with Surgeons, Gastroenterologists, Oncologists, Stomal Therapists and their Dietetic colleagues across the public and private sectors to ensure seamless integration of nutrition therapy into a patients overall medical health goals.

Alice Jay

APD, MNutDiet, BAppSc(HumMov)

Alice Jay specialises in gastrointestinal nutrition, nutrition optimisation before and after surgery, and nutrition support. She completed her Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics at Flinders University in 2013 and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movement) at UniSA in 2006. She has extensive experience as an acute care surgical dietitian at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and thoroughly enjoys her time in the private sector individualising nutrition therapy to assist people in achieving their health and nutrition goals.

Dietetic Specialty Areas - Colorectal cancer and surgery, functional gut disorders including Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and FODMAP therapy, pancreatic disease, and oncology nutrition.

 
 

Claire Nixon

APD, BNutDiet

Claire Nixon is a highly experienced, integrative, Clinical Dietitian in the area of gastrointestinal disease and surgery. Completing her Bachelor in Nutrition and Dietetics at Flinders University in 2009, Claire was awarded the new graduate position at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. She continues to work in gastrointestinal surgery and brings her diligent enthusiasm to specialising her clients’ nutrition journey in the private sector.

Dietetic specialty areas - Oesophageal, gastric, pancreatic, and colorectal cancer and surgery, bariatric and weight loss surgery, and malnutrition.

 
 

Emma Putrus

APD, MNutDiet, BHSc

Emma is a clinical dietitian who specialises in providing nutritional care for clients undergoing bariatric and gastrointestinal surgery. Emma completed her Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics at Flinders University in 2005 and a Bachelor of Health Sciences at Adelaide University in 2003. Emma works in both the private and public sector, maintaining a position at the Royal Adelaide Hospital since 2006 in the area of gastrointestinal surgery. Emma employs a holistic and patient centred approach when providing nutritional care throughout her clients surgical journey.

Dietetic specialty areas - Bariatric and weight loss surgery, upper gastrointestinal disorders such as GORD and achalasia and associated surgery, stomach, oesophageal, pancreatic and colorectal cancer and surgery, malnutrition and pancreatic exocrine insufficiency.
